Getting Your CDL in Arizona
How to book the skills test
Arizona MVD gives knowledge tests at any MVD office and road/skills tests at its CDL offices (12 skills-test locations statewide, by appointment). You can also test with an MVD-certified third-party examiner; many public and private organizations are authorized, and some can supply the test vehicle if you do not have one. Schedule the skills test once you have held the CLP for 14 days and finished ELDT.
Wait times and timing tips
MVD does not publish wait times for skills tests. If the nearest MVD CDL office has no dates, an authorized third-party examiner is often faster, and using their vehicle avoids the vehicle-inspection surprises that cause many first-attempt failures.
