Getting Your CDL in Nevada
How to book the skills test
Nevada DMV gives CDL skills tests at four CDL offices: Reno (890 Trademark Dr) and North Las Vegas (4110 Donovan Way) take appointments or walk-ins, while Elko and Winnemucca are appointment-only; nine other DMV offices handle CDL paperwork but not the driving test. DMV-licensed third-party training schools can also test their own students. Schedule the skills test only after passing all knowledge tests, arrive 15 minutes early, and bring a vehicle for the class you want.
Wait times and timing tips
DMV does not publish wait times. Reno and North Las Vegas accept walk-ins for the skills test, which is unusual; rural offices require appointments. If you use a training school for ELDT, check it holds a Nevada DMV business license, or the DMV may not accept your training record.
