Getting Your CDL in Minnesota
How to book the skills test
Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services gives CDL road tests at its exam stations (16 stations statewide, including Anoka, Duluth, Minneapolis, Rochester, and St. Cloud) and also certifies third-party CDL testers, typically training schools that test their own students. Schedule the road test through DVS once you hold the CLP and have finished ELDT, and bring the class of vehicle you are applying for.
Wait times and timing tips
DVS does not publish CDL road-test wait times. Written tests can now be booked by appointment online, which removes the walk-in queue for the knowledge portion.
