Alabama CDL work concentrates on the I-20, I-65, I-85 corridors and the Montgomery area. The practice questions use the vehicles, loads, and conditions common on those routes.

Alabama rules worth knowing

  • Alabama CDL holders must self-certify the type of commercial operation they conduct. ALEA says Class A, B, and C CDL holders are covered by the self-certification requirement.
  • Use ALEA CDL manual and CDL self-certification pages before testing, renewing, or changing medical/self-certification status.

Testing, appointments, and fees are handled by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Not sure which class you need? Use the Alabama CDL Selector, or read about Alabama CDL classes and endorsements.

Common Alabama questions

Which Alabama CDL package should I buy?
Match it to the vehicle: Class A for tractor-trailers, Class B for straight trucks and buses, Class C with Passenger for vans and small buses. Add HazMat + Tank for fuel and chemicals and School Bus for district work. The Complete package covers all of it if you are undecided. The free Alabama CDL Selector asks a few questions and picks for you.
Are these practice tests valid for the Alabama CDL exam?
Yes. CDL knowledge tests follow the federal standard in 49 CFR 383, so the material applies in Alabama. Tests are administered by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency; each product page lists the Alabama specifics for that test.
How long do I have access?
120 days from purchase for each product, with unlimited practice tests during that time. Most Alabama applicants pass well inside that window, and a retake at Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is still covered if needed.
